Pivnyk's comb has begun to develop more quickly than Jogoo's - this and Pivnyk's paler plumage indicate that he is a cockerel. Marans cockerels always have paler plumage than Marans pullets.

Pivnyk (in the picture above he is sitting on the settee in the living room. Pivnyk is very tame and appears to enjoy being with humans, even copying what we do!
